WORKSTATION

A workstation is a typically a single user high performance computer, with one or more large high resolution monitors. Performance comes from having multiple processors and large amount of memory and storage all high components and design. it might have the performance of 10 desktops but the price of 20. Used by design engineers and professionals like video editors

FRONTIER

AMD & CRAY will build a supercomputer called Frontier for the US government nuclear laboratory in Oak Ridge, for $600 to be delivered in 2021 using EPYC processors, expected to be 7 times better than the current best supercomputer (Summit, 200 PFLOPS), and delivers 1.5 EFLOPS or 1500 PFLOPS and consume 30 MW of power (E for Exa, 10^18 and P for Peta, 10^15)

DATA CENTER

A data center is a building, dedicated space within a building, or a group of buildings used to house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems. It generally includes redundant or backup components and infrastructure for power supply, data communications connections, environmental controls (e.g. air conditioning, fire suppression) and various security devices. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Oracle, etc. build data centers with industrial-scale operations using as much electricity as a small town. And cost billions of dollars to build and of millions of dollars to run each day

TPU

Tensor Processing Units (TPU) is Google's ASIC based AI module used in building services AI Could. This will allow businesses to make use of the intelligence it uses in many applications

LOGIC ANALYSER

An electronic instrument that captures and displays multiple signals from a digital system or digital circuit. It is used to display digital signals as timing diagrams for debugging. We will be using the apparatus in then microprocessors systems lab, to test our wiring and assembly programming. Analyzers have advanced triggering capabilities, and are useful when a user needs to see the timing relationships between many signals in a digital system

PLC

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is modular multiprocessor automation system for drive, control and technology tasks. Typically several racks, each equipped with processing modules, periphery and communication modules, with data logging capability and powerful arithmetic operations ability, high processing speed, precision and flexibility. Generally used to automate industrial plants. Programming languages include: Function Block Diagram (FBD), Ladder Diagram (LD), Pascal like Structured Text (ST), Assembly like Instruction List (IL), Sequential Function Chart (SFC)

IoT

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals, and people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to exchange data over a network without requiring direct human interaction. Recently, this extended to cover many more elements of multiple technologies like real-time analytics, machine learning, commodity sensors, and embedded systems, home automation. And nearly all devices and appliances like lighting fixtures, thermostats, home security systems and cameras, and even speakers television sets. The cloud is now a central part of this

DRONES

Drones are flying battery operated robots with on board control, imaging and communication facilities. There are small drones that fit in hand, and there are large ones (military) that can carry a load of  explosive material. Prices ranges from less than a hundred dollars for small ones to several thousands dollars (A military grade can go much higher and travel and communicate over hundreds of miles at higher altitudes). They can be used to carry out dangerous tasks like taking photos in dangerous areas or fire fighting or small package delivery

A13 BIONIC

Apple released the new iPhone, named 11 Pro, with the new SoC chip, called A13 Bionic. The 64-bit A13 packs 8.5 billion transistors in 6 CPU cores (2 performance and 4 efficiency cores) , 4 GPU cores, and  Neural Engine. The new architecture integrates a special unit for matriculates multiplication with 6x performance. A13 has a peak performance of 1 Tera operations per second
